I want my art to make you happy.
My name is Amanda Blaine — a Canadian painter and potter based in St. Albert, Alberta. My art reflects the vibrant, nonlinear way my mind engages with the world — where focus, distraction and intuition share the same canvas. I’m drawn to the fine details and how they combine to form something greater. Every stroke shapes the bigger picture and each colour is vital to the story.
My painting style blends modern impressionism with expressive colour, visible brushwork and moments of abstraction that invite you to feel the joy in each piece.
I specialize in colourful animal portraiture. I like to celebrate the connection between humans and animals, capturing their unique personalities and spirits. Whether it’s a grizzly bear, wolf or a tiny field mouse, I like to portray each subject in a way that reflects my deep appreciation for the natural world.
I’m also a member of the St. Albert Potters Guild, creating both functional and decorative ceramics. Working across painting and pottery allows me to explore my creative side through surface, form, texture and colour.
Art serves as both an escape and my happy place. By day I work full‑time in communications; by night I immerse myself in acrylics and clay. When I’m creating, my mind goes quiet and I feel a sense of calm in this crazy world.
