About

I want my art to make you happy.

Hi, I’m Amanda Blaine — a Canadian painter and potter from St. Albert, Alberta. My art is a reflection of how my mind likes to wander. It’s curious, colourful, and a little all over the place — in the best way (if I do say so myself). I’m happiest when I’m lost in the details, watching how each brushstroke and burst of colour builds into something bigger and full of life.

My painting style mixes modern impressionism with expressive colour and visible brushwork. It’s a blend of realism and play that’s meant to make you feel the unique personality of each subject and the joy behind each piece.

I’m especially drawn to animals. Whether it’s a bear, wolf, or tiny field mouse, I love capturing their personalities with little sparks in their eyes, energy in their postures, and the quiet souls underneath it all. It’s my way of celebrating the deep connection between humans and the natural world.

When I’m not painting, I’m usually up to my elbows in clay. As a member of the St. Albert Potters Guild, I make both functional and decorative ceramics, experimenting with form, surface and texture. Pottery scratches a different creative itch — one that’s all about touch and rhythm.

Art is my calm in the chaos. It’s my favourite place to land after a busy day in my communications day-job. Once I pick up a brush or sit at the wheel, everything else fades and the world feels right again.

If you’d like to bring a piece home or chat about a commission, I’d love to hear from you. Send me a note through the contact form or shoot me an email. Please include the name of the available piece you’d like to discuss or a short summary of what you’d like to explore and let’s dream something up together.
